Swashbuckling Adventures/7thSea Small Projects
What can you find here
This is the home of various small projects by tec-goblin. These are works in progress, presented using the Open Game License.
Actually you can find here d20 stat conversions from Roll and Keep (the traditional 7thSea system, and some rewriting of SBA d20 rules where they didn't please His Majesty, Tec Goblin :P.
Character Conversions
All the d20ers who got hold of old 7thSea books or are thinking of doing it, don't despair! There are here some conversions of important characters from R&K to d20! (ok, ok, you wouldn't despair just for that, I know ;))
The conversions are to classic SBA (and not d20 modern that tec-goblin is using these days), but with some few adjustments to bring them to v. 3.5 which really helps the conversions (you can notice them in bard, ranger and skill focus).

Sorcery Revisited
As many R&K supporters have showed, it’s quite impossible to be a master swordsman AND a master sorcerer in d20 without being epic level. Well, being epic level isn’t always bad, but making this possible at a bit lower levels will surely help.
I have sacrificed the ability of being a sorcerer at level 1 – it doesn’t matter much, since you NEED some dedication in your study of magic to bring up your magic abilities (as many 7thSea stories have illustrated), and a starting 7thSea hero is roughly
equivalent to a level 3 or 4 d20 character. So, we could make magic classes prestige classes – giving very strong spell progression, but also making it possible to change classes, switch styles and become both a master sorcerer, a master swordsman and a skilled expert by level 18.
D20 modern (actually the d20 Past sorcerer book) showed me how I could make it balanced.
- They include rules on Reputation and Defense bonuses which you can easily ignore if you are not playing d20 modern.
- They also include small corrections, in order to make the descriptions less verbose and more in tune with standard d20 descriptions.
- Still they require Swashbuckling Arcana to be put to use.
- Up to this moment, we have revisited versions of Porte, Scrying and Sorte. Feel free to send me more or to demand more.
